Louis L. Trovato, DDS, FAGD, FICOI

Warm, compassionate, gentle, Dr. Lou Trovato has been serving the Greater Delaware Valley - and guests from across the nation - since 1983. No matter how fearful or apprehensive you may have felt in the past, with Dr. Lou you'll be at home. He loves spending time with patients, and it shows. This year he has again been named to America's Top Dentists by the Consumers' Research Council of America.

Born and raised in Richboro, Pennsylvania, Dr. Lou is a 1974 graduate of Council Rock High School and a 1978 graduate of La Salle University. He graduated from Temple University School of Dental Medicine in 1982. He shares his free time with Barb, his wife of over 25 years, and with their sons, Anthony and Joe. Dr. Lou enjoys all sports, whether he's a participant or a fan! He has exchanged softball and basketball for his current love, golf, and he is an avid, if amateur, weightlifter. Although he no longer coaches, Dr. Lou continues to contribute to the community through the sponsoring of youth sports teams in several leagues and through charity events. He travels extensively for postgraduate education, enjoying opportunities for innovation in his dental art. His life philosophy is to give of himself freely and with love, to stretch his boundaries, to be intensely present in everything in which he participates, to laugh often, to promote harmony, and to be aware of and grateful for the simple gifts of life.

Dr. Lou has trained extensively with the nation's foremost experts in cosmetic dentistry, treatment of craniomandibular dysfunction, functional orthopedics/orthodontics, sleep medicine, and implant dentistry and has himself lectured on advanced topics - especially craniomandibular dysfunction - to other general dentists.

Dr. Lou is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.

The Academy of General Dentistry is considered one of the nation's premier organizations for general dentists. To earn its Fellowship honor, Dr. Trovato completed over 500 hours of postgraduate education in five years of continuous membership in the AGD and passed a comprehensive 400-question written exam. A general dentist who has been made a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example in the field.

A Fellowship from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain is equally prestigious, an indication of the extent of his studies, skills, and experience in the field of temporomandibular joint disorders. To earn this fellowship honor, Dr. Lou completed five years of course work, an extensive mini-residency, rigorous case presentations to a panel of Fellows, and a four-hour comprehensive written exam.

The distinction of three Fellowships ranks Dr. Lou among less than 1% of the dentists of America.
